TWA Teacher: Sharon Simon
Hi, I am Sharon Simon, from Pioneer Primary School. This is my first ever TWA and it is an overseas TWA. I am extremely pleased to be part of TWA @ HeyMath! It was certainly an exciting experience beyond words. During this period of TWA, I was assigned to the following projects:
- Model Method Tool,
- Introduction to Model Method and
- Suggested activities for fraction wall manipulative.
Of all these projects, I enjoyed most was the Model Method Tool. From the ideation to script and to the actual tool, the journey was remarkable. The team who worked with me on this project was dynamic. They have always been receptive to feedback and ensured that the tool is up to the mark as planned. Voiceover recording was another aspect which I will remember avidly. I got the feeling that I am in a mini-recording studio. I am looking forward to seeing the tool being used in schools and am eager to find out their responses.
I also got an opportunity to visit and teach in a local school. I co-taught with Jeremiah, another TWA participant. The interaction with the students was awesome. I could feel their excitement from the way they responded to us.
In all, I am truly blessed to be part of TWA@ HeyMath!. I look forward for more such TWA if I am permitted to go for another round of TWA@ HeyMath!. I would like to thank HeyMath! and MOE for selecting me to be part of this TWA.
To sum up, I would like to thank HeyMath! for all the wonderful and memorable experiences that I have had. I am definitely looking forward for more of such collaborations.
