About Us

HeyMath! Consultant: Clemence

Four months already... time to reflect on this life-time experience. I'm the only one from Cambridge currently working in Chennai but Daniel and Matthew, who joined HeyMath! last year, are still working with us from Mexico and the UK. One is part of the software development team; the other is on the content side; I found a happy middle, which offers a wide variety of interesting projects and which suits both my interest in computing and education.

HeyMath! is also about the people and their friendliness. In the morning, everyone greets you with a smile on their face. Throughout the day, they are there to help you with your work. And at the end of the month, they are even ready to cook for the now famous HeyMath! Food Fest.

Coming to Chennai is also about discovering a new part of the world as well as a fascinating culture. I'm an avid traveling fan and weekends are filled with beaches of Mahabalipuram, temples of Kanchipuram and walks in Pondichery.

Of course, you might need some time to adjust to the country. The first impression people get when they arrive in Chennai is often either the crowd or the humidity or both. Going back home during the rainy season can be a challenge of its own when the roads are flooded. While crossing a street, make sure to check both sides, for you never know what's coming from the opposite direction. And be prepared to see more cows and crocodiles than cats and dogs!

At the end of the day, each one of us has a different experience. All I can say is that everything is here for you to make it such an enriching and unique episode of your life. It's up to you to make the first step because both HeyMath! and India are already welcoming you.
